Bon voyage to our accountant of 10 years, Katie Kordash

The fabulous Katie Kordash, senior accountant, is wrapping up her tenure here at NWHF at the end of this month. While many of you may not know her personally, Katie has been the behind-the-scenes wizard who has made all the work of NWHF possible for the last 10 years. Have you received any sort of payment from NWHF in the last 10 years? Katie wrote that check. Worked with any of our staff? Katie on-boarded them. Received a grant? Katie accounted for it. In fact, Katie has had a hand in every single aspect of our work since April 15, 2013.

Since Katie is an accountant, let’s do a little counting of Katie’s accomplishments:

  • Number of clean audits Katie has managed: 10

  • Number of grants and community partner contracts Katie has processed: 1,977

  • Number of payments to grantees and community partners Katie has sent out: 3,007

  • Total amount of those 3,007 payments: $42,929,340.13 (and counting!)

What we can’t account for in those numbers is the patient grace, fierce compassion, and wicked humor Katie has brought for her entire time at NWHF. Katie’s creative, solutions-oriented mindset and dedication to excellence in everything she does has been an absolute joy to work with, and we will all miss her beyond measure.

Katie, thank you for all you have done to shape NWHF as the dependable and thoughtful organization that we are today. All the luck and love to you going into your next career chapter!
